It's been a while since I logged on, but since my last post here I've seen Barry Scott & Second Wind and Dailey & Vincent. I'll tell ya, Barry's bunch is one of the most underrated groups out there. They are one of the better bands out right now, IMO.

I wouldn't doubt that the least little bit.
He seems very "down to earth" to me and he tells great stories.
And he is originally from eastern Kentucky, so anyone can see he has a lot going for him. .... _________________

| I watched The Cumberland Highlanders Show on RFD Network last night. It was a segment from 2009 Jerusalem Ridge Celebration in Rosine Ky. It was a great 30 minute segment. There was a 13 year boy picking a mandolin like he was born with it, the talent anyway. I was so envious, made me want to shed a tear. |

I saw the new band The Boxcars debut performance last night at Down Home.
What a great show they did!!!!! ....and for what looked to me to be a sellout crowd too!!
Folks, this is Bluegrass that is pert near as good as it gets IMHO.
The band members are ...l to r... Ron Stewart, Adam Steffey, Harold Nixon, Keith Garrett, and John R. Bowman.
with a guest appearance from Clay Hess, guitar.
Check out the Boxcars at http://www.theboxcars.com/ _________________

Last nite I went down to the Mountaineer Opry in Milton, WV and saw Larry Stephenson Band. I also got to visit with an ol friend and great banjo player, Mr. Kenny Ingram. Kenny has been with Larry for about a year. Kenny is doing alot of harmony vocals, along with his driving banjo and I was glad to see him play the ol Scruggs style guitar on some of the gospel songs. I mostly went to see Kenny, however, I was treated by a really great band and Stephens's vocals. I'd highly recommend them. |
